Lovely as a Tree

There is something lovely about this Stampin Up set - Lovely as a Tree.  It works for so many cards and can stand on its own equally well.  The one thing I am always short on are cards that are appropriate to send to a man - something that is not girly or overly wordy - hence this design.  It is Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip.  It's hard to see in the photo, but the tree stamp is mounted on a 'bark background' that some from an embossing folder I found at Hobby Lobby.  I think it's going to pair well with this stamp set in the future!

Break from the fiber projects

I took a break from the fiber projects and took the time to work on the iPhone cross stitch case.  Working on the background now.  One of the other bright colors (still leaning towards blue) will become the geometric design on the top.

Hello & Type

Since I had the Just Add Cake DSP out, I thought I would experiment with this paper as a background as well.  I teamed it with the typewriter & hello stamp from the You're My Type set, added a Wild Wasabi base card, and used some black accents to fill it out.

Revisitng Goals

At the beginning of the year, I set the following knitting/crochet/weaving goals for myself.  Halfway through June, I thought it was time to check in and see how I am doing. So far, not bad.  I'll have to push a little bit to get through them though.

So far,
  1. Finish the Adeline blanket.  Done!  Finished!
  2. Complete the Sky Scarf project.  So far, so good.  I'm caught up on the scarf and on track to have it finished at the end of the year.
  3. Continue my self imposed sock club.  I've managed to meet this goal too!
  4. Knit more items from my queue.  Fail!  I haven't knit that much from the queue - I haven't knit that much in general after finishing the blanket.
  5. Try to knit more patterned socks.  Again, fail.  I have reverted back to plain vanilla socks.  Maybe I can try to do this for some Christmas presents?
  6. Knit/Crochet/Weave 12,000 yards in 2012.  Not bad.  So far, I have used 4,984 yards and have 7,016 to go!

I tried a pattern....

...and failed.  I tried the Jaywalker pattern with this yarn and it did not work.  So, I ripped it back.

I think it just wants to be plain vanilla socks anyways...and my June personal sock club socks.

Just Add Cake & Dots

One of my latest creations.  I purchased a set of phrase stamps that had been on my wishlist for quite a while.  The whimsical phrase paired well with the polka dotted paper from the Just Add Cake DSP.  I added a Marina Mist base, and circle punches out of the So Saffron and Wild Wasabi paper.  The orange circle punches are the reverse of the base paper.  I added polka dots inside as well to keep the theme going.  For some reason this card reminds me of visiting the roller rink as a kid....

Sky Scarf: May Update

The Sky Scarf is coming along nicely and weighs 100 grams.  The two colors that I am going through the fastest are the medium blue and the white; I weighed them as well and I am almost through 50% of those skeins at the beginning of June.
