Adeline Blanket Border!

Do you see that? Do you know what it is?  That my friends is the base for the border on the blanket.

It's official - the end is in sight!

I decided on a scallop edging in the gray color because, frankly, it's what I have the most of remainging.  It should mirror the double crochet in the blanket and finish it off nicely.  Before the scallop round goes on, it requires a round of single crochet to build on.  As you can see, I'm working on that right now.  I hope to have it done by the end of the week.

White Peony Tea Shoppe

I'm really enjoying the White Peony Tea Shoppe set.  I made one of the card swap cards using it and turned around and created this card to go out in the mail soon.  I used Certainly Celery and Pink Pirrouette as the base colors.  I discovered that the small oval punch will fit the center section of The White Peony Tea Shoppe stamp if you exclude the border.  The lace ribbon was leftover from my ribbon stash.

Card Swap!

Yesterday I participated in a card swap with some local Stampin Up friends.  We were each tasked with creating two card designs and making 8 of each.  The first one I made used the Aviary stamp set.  This set had been on my wishlist for about a year before it was purchased.  I've very glad I did so!  I used the inks and paper from the 2011-13 In Colors (since those were new to me too!).  The card on the right went to the card swap girls.

My second design used the new Tea Shoppe set and the new Lace Doily Sizzlet die.  I loved the stamp set and have already used it to make another set of cards.  The lace doily die I had a lot of difficultly removing the pieces from, but eventually got them all out.  For each card, I cut each doily in half to add to a card.  I hope that the ladies all liked their cards!

Blanket Deadline: 2 weeks to go!

It's official.  I have two weeks until my blanket deadline!  Funny, how two months ago I thought that I had all of the time in the world, but now I am worried about cutting in close.  I have started to weigh all of the remaining balls of yarn and surprisingly, I have vastly different remaining amounts.  After one more full repeat off all of the colors, I am going to have to measure again to see if I can complete one or two more rounds.

Once the final round is complete, I'll add the border which will probably take longer than I expect.  Isn't that always the way that it goes?  It's like binding off a shawl with 600 stitches - you should allow three times as long as you expect.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Knitting keeps us from unraveling...

Cute little card that's set to go out to my knitting friends using Stampin Up's Baja Breeze and Perfect Plum.   Some days all you need is a little knitting to help wind down at the end of a long day.  Right now, I'm using crochet at the end of the day.  When the blanket is off the hook, I'll get back to knitting.  I'm not entirely sure what new WIPs will make it on to the needles.  16 days until my blanket deadline!

Still here, still working

You see, I am still working on the blanket.  This leads me to share:
  1. I am making good progress.
  2. I wish that I could share the news that it was complete, but it is not.
  3. It is already larger than a lap blanket.
  4. This is good news!
  5. I hope to share the news that it is complete in the next few weeks.

Adeline Blanket Update

I'm working on the Adeline Blanket slowly.  Each roud is taking close to 2 hours right and taking around 16 grams of yarn to complete.  I had two skeins of each color, and I am close to halfway done with the second skein of each color.  I have decided that the border will be the silver/gray color - since I have a third skein of it available.  The goal is to have it done by the end of the March.  We'll see how it goes!
